We started off the week by taking control of our careers. Let’s finish strong and end the week by mastering how to control our bodies. Being expressive and physical are two incredibly important aspects of acting. As performers we must master how to better our movements and maintain our vocals. Check out these insider tips for taking control of your body:
- Sign Up For Dance Classes – Whether it be ballet, samba, jazz, or hip-hop, dance classes are the perfect way to get in touch with ones self. Dance allows you to gain better control over your movements and drastically improves your posture. It’s also a great way to express emotion and get into character.
- Find a Vocal Coach – A powerful voice is always memorable. Hire a teacher who can help you develop both your singing and speaking voice. Learn new accents, practice your pitch, and always project!
- Clean Up Your Diet – Performing can be extremely taxing on the body. To stay in top shape you must adopt a diet that fuels your energy. Develop a meal plan that leaves you looking and feeling strong. I know from experience that when we get busy skipping meals can become more and more frequent. Combat this by preparing food that you can take on the go. Your body will thank you!
