Tickets have been counted and the results are in…“22 Jump Street” was number one at the Father’s Day Weekend box office! Bringing in $60 million, this is a huge win for Sony, MGM and the entire cast! The sequel debuted 65% ahead of its predecessor and received an A- CinemaScore from audiences. The chemistry between stars Jonah Hill and Channing Tatum, along with a story line that has something for everyone, will continue to propel “22 Jump Street” at theatres.
“How to Train Your Dragon 2” brought in $50 million and a disappointing second place finish. DreamWorks Animation was predicting a much higher opening as it is the only animated film to be released within the last six weeks.
