Persistence: the quality that allows someone to continue doing something or trying to do something even though it is difficult or opposed by other people.
Looking back on my coaching calls from the past week I noticed a theme emerged…persistence. The actors I spoke with all shared the incredible strength and endurance they have to keep up with this business. I had the pleasure of speaking with the father of 10 year old ClaimFame member Autumn-Grace. He told me about the countless auditions he has been on with his daughter and the disappointment they share when she is turned down for a role. Despite some set-backs, I could tell that Autumn-Grace and her dad are determined for her to make it as an actress. As their coach I knew they had the passion and it was my job to remind them to be persistent against the odds.
I also spoke to ClaimFame Pro-Member Sasha Alexander McDermott who works 2 jobs in order to go to school to study acting. I was beyond impressed with Sasha’s resume and his knowledge of the industry. Even though Sasha has so much on his plate, he continues to push to find agency representation. I reminded Sasha to stay focused on school and persistent on getting cast in films and showcases in order to get the attention of an agent.
As well all strive to defy the odds, I want to encourage everyone to stay hungry and keep their head up! Your perfect role is coming.
