3 Insider Tricks to Help You Memorize Your Lines in No Time

As an actor one of the biggest parts of your job is to memorize lines. No one said this business was easy! Today let’s look at 3 ways to help you learn your lines fast!

1. Record your lines – and play it back! Listen all day and all night to the recording until it becomes second nature. You can listen in the car, at your desk or while exercising. This is a fantastic way to learn the play and your parts quick!

2. Flashcards – Another way to fast track learning your line is to write them out. I always aced a test in school when I studied using flashcards. Whose to say this method doesn’t apply to actors? Write out your line on one side of the card and the next line on the opposite side. This way you learn more of the production and can remember your cues!

3. Say It Loud – Run your lines using a loud voice, an accent or as a funny character. Do something that makes it entertaining and helps you to remember your part. By mixing it up you may surprise yourself at how quickly you hold onto the material.
