Yesterday I had the pleasure of coaching ClaimFame member, Joe Jackson. I could tell instantly that Joe and I would get along. His warm southern drawl and excitement for the entertainment industry were enough to have me hooked! Joe has appeared in numerous films including “Oldboy”, “Hateship, Loveship” and the television show “The Hour of the 50’s”. With a background in media and the confidence to persevere in this business I see big things coming Joe’s way.
As my conversation went on with Joe, I found myself coming up with alternative suggestions for Joe to break into acting. While he has had luck in traditional films and TV shows, I couldn’t help but think he could be doing more! As I was so enamored with the cadence and tone of his voice I advised Joe to look into voice-over work, something he hadn’t though of before. I could also sense that Joe is a creative spirit and encouraged him to start creating his own content on YouTube and Vimeo. As many of you know these websites are an excellent way to get noticed by casting directors, agents, managers etc.
Make sure to keep your eye on Joe and I predict he will have some amazing stories from set for us soon! Also, make sure you are exploring all your options for getting involved in acting. There are so many ways to get your name and ideas in front of an audience. Keep dreaming everyone!
