Get In Shape With The Actor’s Workout

We all want to look great on camera! This means we need to put in the hours to stay looking fit and healthy. Nothing is better than glowing on screen after a good sweat session. You may be asking, “what type of workout is best for an actor?” While we all have different body types, I think its important as an actor to give off the appearance of being lean and strong. Besides looking good, being physically fit will help your endurance and allow you to work what can sometimes be grueling days in production! Let’s get our workout on with these tips of the trade.

1. An actor’s workout involves a mixture of cardiovascular training and body weight exercises! Focus on crunches pull ups, bicep curls, squats and leg lifts to develop tone.

2. Find an activity that you are passionate about and enjoy going back to. Nothing is worse than a stale routine. Join an exercise class or start a running program that keeps you hot and bothered!

3. Make sure you find time to stretch. Mixing in yoga, Pilates or a soft meditation class can increase your flexibility while relaxing your mind. It’s important to restore your body and give it time to adjust to an exercise regime.

I am hitting the gym this afternoon and can’t wait to get a good sweat in. Join me!
