All You Need to Know About Pilot Season

A new season is upon us! No, it’s not quite spring yet, it’s pilot season! This is the time of year when actors and actresses flock to New York and Los Angeles to audition for the new crop of television shows trying to make it on the airwaves. Each summer networks receive over 500 elevator pitches for new shows. In the fall the networks request scripts for about 75 pitches and this month around 20 pilot episodes are ordered. Come spring time final decisions will be made about what shows will go to air in the fall and hopefully make a run at becoming the next hit.

Pilot season is a time when producers and casting directors are looking for a new performer to make a splash. Directors want to find the next breakout star a la Blake Lively (Gossip Girl), Lea Michele (Glee) or Taylor Schilling (Orange is the New Black). Could you be next? Stay with ClaimFame to get all the latest details on pilot season and casting calls near you.
