Are you a talented dancer/actor? Channing Tatum’s “Step Up” TV series is now casting lead speaking roles. Casting directors are looking for one female and one male dancer/actor to work on the new episodic TV series. Filming in Atlanta, GA and the deadline to submit is May 1st. YouTube is making its first big scripted series bet, giving a straight-to-series order to Step Up, a drama series from Lionsgate TV based on the film franchise that grossed $650 million at the global box office. Channing Tatum and Jenna Dewan Tatum, who co-starred in the original Step Up film, will executive produce the series adaptation along with the movies’ producers Adam Shankman, Jennifer Gibgot and Meredith Milton.
- Tal: 18-21 years. BI-RACIAL. Skinny, smart, with a quick witted sense of humor. He is gay, but doesn’t advertise that fact nor does he hide it. Has a higher IQ and EQ than his ambitious, powerhouse twin sister Janelle. A talented ballet/contemporary dancer, Tal initially loves dance just to make sense of the world and ground himself – though he is terrified at performing publicly and therefore can’t really see it as a career.
- Janelle: 18-21 years. BI-RACIAL. Beautiful, determined and insanely motivated dancer who was a rock star in her small town as the head cheerleader of the states biggest hip hop cheer squad. A self-centered young woman who doesn’t waste much sympathy on people. Initially feels like a fish out of water when she arrives in her new home in Atlanta.
