Project Description:

Astoria Perfoming Arts Center needs your very talented child! They are seeking TWO children performers (AEA or non-AEA) to play roles in their upcoming revival of Rodgers and Hammerstein’s musical, “ALLEGRO.” Please ONLY submit if you can realistically bring your child to Astoria, Queens (theatre is a quick walk from the 30th Avenue train station) – as all performances and rehearsals WILL be in Astoria. Children will not be called for every day of rehearsal – but can expect to be called daily once we get into tech rehearsals and the performances.

Allegro debuted in 1947, and was the third collaboration of the fathers of the American musical theatre, Rodgers and Hammerstein. It was the first concept musical and very much ahead of its time. A full studio cast recording was released in 2009. Travel stipend will be provided.
